Workshop Description:
This workshop provides a two-part experiential content
on play therapy and its applications in work with
children (including adolescents) in trauma. The first
part focuses on the utilization of assessment tools
that create a safe environment for the clients and
suggests the use of measures that accurately identify
posttraumatic stress symptoms and other differential
responses exhibited by children in crisis. The second
part provides hands-on experiences with an array of
therapeutic techniques that are creative and interactive
to encourage clinicians to move into the world of
traumatized children and help them resolve feelings
of grief, loss, and fear.
